CREATIVE GUIDES · CREATIVE CRAFTS DUBAI
Special-effect vinyl can bring a different finish to a personalised project. The important first step is distinguishing adhesive vinyl for suitable hard surfaces from heat-transfer vinyl for suitable fabrics.
Puff and glow effects
Use a compatible puff heat-transfer material for fabric projects that suit its instructions. The final texture depends on the correct application process. Read the exact product’s temperature, pressure, time and peel guidance before pressing.
Cold colour-changing vinyl
Cold-reactive adhesive vinyl can add an interactive detail to a suitable bottle or cup exterior. It is not automatically a fabric material. Keep it away from drinking rims and follow the care instructions for the vinyl and blank.
Glitter heat-transfer vinyl
A glitter HTV design can work well on a fabric bag or T-shirt. Choose a simple motif, make a test cut and weed carefully. Check whether the material needs mirroring and whether layering is permitted.
Before making a full project
Match your cutting settings to the vinyl and machine, then test a small sample on the intended blank. Different finishes can require different transfer tapes, heat settings and care routines.
