Use Design Space to prepare a graduation card with a drawn greeting and layered decorations. Personalise the colours, name and year to suit the graduate.
Prepare your materials
You will need coordinating cardstock, adhesive, a compatible Cricut pen and cutting tools. If your machine supports a scoring tool, you can add the fold in Design Space; otherwise score the base manually.
Create the base and panel
- Add an 8.5 × 5.5-inch rectangle for the card base.
- Position a 5.5-inch score line at the midpoint of the longer side and attach it to the base.
- Add a second rectangle measuring 4 × 5.25 inches for the front panel.
Add the greeting
Choose a writing-style font or suitable pen design and add your greeting. Set the text to the appropriate drawing operation, place it over the front panel and attach it to that panel. This keeps the drawing in position when the machine prepares the mat.
Make and assemble
Add a small star or graduation-cap cut shape if desired. Follow the tool prompts in Design Space, then fold the base and attach the finished panel. Arrange decorative shapes before gluing them down.
Write a personal note inside and choose an envelope that fits the finished card without bending its embellishments.
