CREATIVE GUIDES · CREATIVE CRAFTS DUBAI
Small paper offcuts can become useful decorations for cards, albums and gifts. Sort scraps by colour and size, then turn a few pieces into a coordinated set of embellishments.
Punched shapes
Use a circle, flower or border punch to make shapes from flat scraps. Layer different sizes or colours to create a small focal point for a card. Check the punch’s paper-weight guidance before using thicker cardstock.
Mini tags and albums
Cut scraps into tags, add a punched hole and finish with ribbon. Larger offcuts can form pages for a small tag album, while patterned pieces can become pockets or page accents.
Paper lace and borders
Border punches and suitable dies can turn a narrow strip into a decorative edge. Attach it along a journal page, a gift bag or the bottom of a handmade card.
Quilled details
Cut suitable paper into even strips, then roll and shape it into simple loops or petals. Glue the pieces together once you are happy with their arrangement.
Keep only scraps you can realistically use. A small labelled box is easier to work from than a crowded drawer, and making embellishments in colour-matched batches helps them fit future projects.
